Carnival Cruise Lines Overview

Carnival Cruise Line is a cruise line that owns and runs a large number of cruise ships. The company was initially started by Ted Arison in 1972 which he later expanded for it to today become a branded division that is now a public trading company. The company came to be known as Carnival Corporation & plc that acquired a huge number of cruise brands.

Carnival Cruise Line were the first to initiate a cruises that covered short distances and were hence more pocket friendly. The interior of the ships look like they are out of a Las Vegas casino and the entertainment on board these ships match the same. The cruise liner calls its fleet of ships as "The Fun Ships". As the name suggests the ships offer a wide range of entertainment and activities on board. The smoke stack or the funnel that is painted in red, white and blue color and is shaped like a whale's tail is the trademark of the cruise line.

"Fun ship Freddy", is the mascot for the Carnival cruise line and is shaped like the funnel. Carnival Destiny, a passenger ship of 101,000 tones was one of the largest passenger ships in the world in the 1996. Currently, one of the latest and largest liners of the Carnival fleet is the Carnival splendor. There are also two bigger ships, Carnival Dream and Carnival Magic that are under construction and will be unveiled in the next year or so.

Carnival Cruise Line claims that from the beginning they have built their ships with a single intention, i.e. to make sure that every time a passenger wakes up and walks its gangway they should feel like they are boarding the U.S.S Fun. In the past 40 years they have only aimed at making their liners fun to be in. Their goal is to see every passenger go home smiling after an incredible vacation. by Jackson Lee
